 More Than Music—A Cultural Mission
Beyond the music, the night carried a deeper purpose. In a keynote message delivered by Wakefield Ackuaku on behalf of the Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, the event was praised as a vital force in preserving Ghana’s musical heritage. And the vision goes even further.
“This is more than a concert,” said MUSIGA President Bessa Simons.
“It’s the launch of a movement—the Highlife Festival and the Highlife to the World Tour.” In simple terms: Highlife is going global again.
Music That Gives Back
This wasn’t just about entertainment—it was about impact. An exclusive auction raised funds for the Ageing Musicians Welfare Fund (AMWeF), supporting legends who paved the way for today’s music industry. Highlights included:
- A commemorative MUSIGA Golden Jubilee book
- Unique handcrafted beads from Sun Trade Beads
The night also welcomed international guests, including members of Spain’s Mucho Mungo, adding a global cultural exchange to the celebration.
Why This Night Matters
Highlife is more than a genre—it’s Ghana’s musical identity. And events like this prove one thing: The sound is not dying—it’s rising again, stronger than ever. From young fans dancing to old-school hits, to industry leaders backing a global movement, the message was clear: Highlife is alive. Highlife is evolving. And the world is about to feel it. The 3rd Authentic Highlife Nite wasn’t just successful—it was historic. With the upcoming Highlife Festival in October on the horizon, this event has set the tone for something much bigger:
